Leadership and Staff

Education & Learning (E&L) leadership and staff are led by the Senior Vice Provost, Dr. Laurence “Larry” Jacobs.

Dr. Steven P. Girardot

Vice Provost, Undergraduate Education

Dr. Girardot has over twenty years of higher education experience and is a proud Tech alumnus, having earned both a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Chemistry from Georgia Tech. He completed his doctorate in Chemistry at Emory University, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Epidemiology from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. His research was at the interface of chemistry and environmental health.

Dr. Bonnie Ferri

Vice Provost, Graduate & Postdoctoral Education

Dr. Ferri is the vice provost for Graduate Education & Postdoctoral Education at Georgia Tech. Ferri is also a professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). She previously was associate chair for undergraduate affairs in ECE and also served as the associate chair for graduate affairs in ECE.

Dr. Joyce Weinsheimer

Director, Center for Teaching and Learning

Dr. Weinsheimer is director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). With more than 30 years of experience in higher education, she has held multiple campus roles (tenured faculty, department chair, learning center administrator, teaching and learning center co-founder and director, and international teaching and learning consultant). 

Cara-Joy Wong

Education & Learning, Program and Portfolio Manager

Cara-Joy Wong, an Atlanta native, earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, with a concentration in Marketing, from the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business. While attending Georgia Tech she held several leadership positions within her Greek organization, Phi Mu, and worked at Georgia Tech Professional Education as a Marketing Intern. During that time she also worked with Dr. G.P. “Bud” Peterson in the President’s Office.

Cara-Joy began working with the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education in 2014, and while her primary appointment is with the Provost’s Office, approximately 25% of her responsibilities include assisting the Associate Vice Provost with special projects.

When she’s outside of work, Cara-Joy enjoys spending time with her friends and family, keeping up with the latest movies and television series, and cheering on the Jackets during Georgia Tech football games.
